1. Information we collect

ÉmojiMot is designed to minimize personal data collection. We do not collect personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number) directly through the App.

1.1 Data stored locally on your device

The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

User preferences

• •Sound effects state (on / off)
• •Background music state (on / off)
• •Selected difficulty level (among the 3 available)

Game progression

• •Categories unlocked among the 8 available (Food, Animals, Sports, Professions, Objects, Countries, Transport, Nature)
• •Completed puzzles (out of the 166 in the game)
• •Score, words found, lives remaining, hints available

1.2 Data collected by our advertising partners

ÉmojiMot is a free, ad-supported app. We use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display ads. Google AdMob automatically collects:

• •The device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), used to personalize and measure the effectiveness of ads.
• •Ad data (ads viewed, clicks, impressions).

This data is processed by Google according to their own policies:

2. How we use your information

2.1 Local data

Locally stored information is used exclusively to:

• •Operate the App and its features
• •Save your progress and preferences
• •Improve your gameplay experience

2.2 Advertising

Ads serve to:

• •Fund the free App so you can play without paying
• •Offer free hints through rewarded ads (voluntary viewing) when a puzzle stumps you

3. Advertising and privacy

3.1 Controlling personalized ads

You can disable personalized ads in your device settings. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.

3.2 Ads for children

As the game is recommended from age 8 and suitable for the whole family, we instruct Google AdMob to serve only family-friendly, non-personalized ads, in line with COPPA (USA) and GDPR-K (Europe).

4. Storage and data security

• •Local data: stored only on your device. Its security depends on your device's security.
• •Ad data: managed by Google AdMob according to their security standards.

We do not transfer any personal data to our own servers, because we don't have any.

5. Information sharing

We do not share any personal information with third parties, because we do not collect any directly. The only data shared is that collected automatically by Google AdMob for ad delivery. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

6. Third-party services

ÉmojiMot uses the following third-party services:

These services may collect data for their own purposes in accordance with their respective policies.

7. Children's privacy

ÉmojiMot is a family game recommended from age 8 and suitable for the whole family. We never knowingly collect personal information from children. Displayed ads are configured to be family-friendly. We comply with COPPA (USA) and GDPR-K (Europe).

8. Your rights

8.1 Managing your local data

• •Deletion: uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

8.3 GDPR rights (European users)

9. Data retention

• •Local data: kept on your device until the App is uninstalled.
• •Ad data: managed by Google AdMob under their retention policy (typically up to 2 years).

10. International data transfers

Google AdMob may transfer your data to servers outside your country, including in the United States. These transfers are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. For material changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page is updated.

12. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Union, the legal bases are:

13. Supervisory authority

1. Purpose

ÉmojiMot is a 100% French phonetic emoji puzzle game: pronounce each emoji aloud, blend the sounds, find the word (example: chat + M + eau = chameau). The App offers 166 puzzles across 8 categories (Food, Animals, Sports, Professions, Objects, Countries, Transport, Nature) with 3 difficulty levels. It is recommended from age 8.

2. Access to service

The App is free and accessible without account creation. Once installed, it is playable offline. An Internet connection may be required to load ads or updates. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, without notice.

3. Business model

ÉmojiMot is funded by advertising (Google AdMob). Two formats are used: interstitial ads between certain levels and rewarded ads that you may voluntarily watch to earn a hint. The App contains no hidden subscription and no mandatory in-app purchases.

4. Intellectual property

All content of the App (code, interface, design, artwork, sounds, puzzle selection and wording, the ÉmojiMot brand) is the property of mcsÉdition or used under license. Any unauthorized reproduction, extraction, translation, adaptation, or distribution is prohibited. Displayed emojis belong to their respective providers (Apple, Google).

5. User behavior

You agree to use the App for its intended recreational purpose. The following are prohibited: decompiling, reverse engineering, modifying the code, using automated tools to solve puzzles, bypassing the advertising mechanism, or attempting to extract the puzzle database for redistribution.

6. Updates and evolution

The App evolves: new puzzles, categories, features, or fixes may be added via updates distributed through the App Store and Google Play. Certain features may be modified or removed. Installing an update may be required to continue using the service.

7. Limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is”. mcsÉdition makes every effort to offer a stable experience but cannot guarantee continuous availability, absence of errors, or compatibility with every device. To the extent permitted by law, mcsÉdition shall not be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use or inability to use the App.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws in force in Québec (Canada). Any dispute regarding their interpretation or performance falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.

9. Modification of the Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. The applicable version is the one published on this page at the time you use the App. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the latest revision.
