Why Gazbar?

Gas prices fluctuate constantly in Quebec, and the gap between two neighbouring stations can mean real savings over a year. You just need to know where to look, and when.

Gazbar gathers data from Quebec's Régie de l'énergie and shows it directly on a map. Real-time prices, 14-day history per station, alerts when prices drop: regular, premium or diesel, it is all there, with no ads and no account to create.

In brief

How does Gazbar find the cheapest gas in Quebec?

Gazbar aggregates gas prices collected by Quebec's Régie de l'énergie, the provincial body that monitors energy markets. The Régie receives price declarations from more than 3,200 gas stations across Quebec, and Gazbar refreshes them in the app every 15 minutes. The interactive map shows each station with its brand, current price for regular and diesel, and distance from the user's position. A filter targets a radius of 5, 10, 25, or 50 km. Gazbar keeps a 14-day price history per station, so users can visualise the trend — rising, stable, falling — before a long trip. The app is fully free, ad-free, and runs on iOS and Android in Quebec only at the time of writing.

How do you set up a price alert on Gazbar?

Gazbar allows up to 5 simultaneous price alerts in the free version. Each alert combines 3 parameters: a price threshold (for example $1.449/L), a fuel type (regular, premium, diesel), and a geographic zone (radius around a point or specific municipality such as Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke). When at least one station in the zone falls below the threshold, a push notification is sent immediately. Alerts can also be time-conditional (for example, only between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to avoid night notifications). Gazbar keeps a 30-day history of triggered alerts so users can adjust thresholds. The app is built specifically for the Quebec market and does not currently cover Ontario, New Brunswick, or the rest of Canada.
